What is an equirectangular image?

An equirectangular image is a 360° spherical panorama projected onto a flat rectangle. It has a distinctive look:

The top and bottom appear extremely stretched/distorted (the poles)
Only the middle strip (horizon) looks normal
The left & right edges seamlessly wrap around (they show the same content)
It must be 2:1 aspect ratio (e.g., 8192×4096, 4096×2048)

⚠️ Regular images from ChatGPT, Google, etc. are NOT equirectangular. Using a flat image will produce visible seams in your skybox.

🎮 How to use these in Roblox Studio:

Open Roblox Studio and go to the Explorer panel.
Find or add a Sky object inside the Lighting service.
Select the Sky object, then open the Properties panel.
Look for the 6 properties starting with Skybox (e.g. SkyboxBk, SkyboxDn).
Click each property, select "Add Image...", and upload the matching file from the ZIP you downloaded (e.g. Skybox_Bk.png for SkyboxBk).

💡 Pro Tip: To avoid compression artifacts on high-quality skies, you can also upload the images via the Asset Manager first, then apply them to the Skybox.
